Chris Griffin

Christopher Griffin is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is an honor graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts and has a degree in Music Theory and German from the University of Alabama. Chris is the music director/organist for the Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills and a free lance tenor and accompanist in Birmingham. As a vocalist, Mr. Griffin has served as tenor soloist for St. Paul's Cathedral, Birmingham, Alabama, and has been an active professional tenor in the Birmingham area since 1985. He has appeared as a soloist with the choirs of UAB, the University of Montevallo, Independent Presbyterian Church, and many other churches. His vocal teachers include Benjamin Middaugh, Eleanor O. Foster, and others. He is a professional singer with the choir of Temple Emmanu-El in Birmingham. As a pianist and organist, Mr. Griffin has served as Music Director/Organist for the Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills since 1994. Previous posts include St. Michael's Episcopal Church and First United Methodist Church, Hueytown, AL, as well as the music departments of ASFA, Montevallo, and UAB. He currently serves as adjunct music faculty (accompanist) for Birmingham-Southern College. Additionally, he is frequently heard at Ross Bridge, Shoal Creek Country Club, and other private and public venues. |
